Elephant props

I think I have found my calling in life. Getting paid to wander round prop houses is the best thing ever!

Heather Chontos

I have lucked out and got a bit of work with Heather Chontos as her assistant on a few food shoots! She's a very talented prop stylist and I am super excited about working with her. Especially as I assume it means I will get to take home all the excess food at the end!

Fred Perry

The first project I did for Studio XAG has gone in store! We spent all week cleaning up old bikes and making them into these rather fetching sculptures for Fred Perry's new range of vintage looking cycling tops. Cool eh? I think it looks awesome, but if I never have to clean another bike chain again I will be very happy indeed.

Studio XAG (teepees)

SO I am going to be at Studio XAG hopefully for a few weeks. I am super excited about this because I absolutely love their work! I have been secretly admiring their work for ages all over Carnaby street, but only recently managed to track down who was behind it all. So I've been a busy bee, making things out of old bikes, making tee pees (see above, for Diesel) and trying my hand at paper sculpture and having a great time. I will post more work soon, when the projects go live.

Harvey nichols casting flowers

Been having a great time at Harvey Nichols casting real flowers for their spring windows, amongst other things. All I will say is that they're big on flowers. I will post photos soon.

Harvey Nichols

I have got a job making the shop windows for Harvey Nichols! It's so much fun and a lot more creative and relaxed than some other jobs I could mention. We're working on the spring windows at the moment. I can't post any photos just yet but needless to say there's a lot of flowers being cast in resin and plaster, which I am thoroughly enjoying. I'm also helping to make the head pieces for the mannequins which is a little daunting but exciting. I will post some images when I can.

Paper flowers

I've just finished working at Millington on a job for John Lewis. It was mental. I spent half my time upholstering chairs and sofa with astro turf (bonkers, I know. And not easy on the hands). The other half of my time was taken up with making these mad balls of flowers. I think in total we had something like 500,000 paper flowers (that had to be made out of 3 pieces of paper) and we made a couple of hundred plastic balls covered in them. Each one of the large ones was taking about four hours to cover. We had a proper little factory going. I put a photo in with the lovely Amy in it for scale, so you can see how massive they are. So, coming to a John Lewis near you is 3 weeks of our blood sweat and tears. Enjoy.

Matt Wingfield Studios

I occasionally help out at Matt's studio since doing work experience there in my first year. He's had a lot of really cool projects on recently which is good. The other week I was helping him with a job for Gap to celebrate their 40th birthday they made a pop up shop in London and in Paris selling limited edition clothes and these prints (top) were handed out for free. I spent a week helping odd jobs and sewing the denim changing rooms and table tops. It's amazing how much work he gets done so quick! There were also some limited edition colour screen prints which were amazing, will get a photo up when I can. Sorry for the rubbish picture quality, camera phones were the order of the day. mattwingfieldstudio.com
