There have been some new Anish Kapoor sculptures popping up all over Kensington Gardens overnight. I think they look great, especially at this time of year with the leaves changing. To my dismay though, within a few days there were security guards all around them and cordons so you couldn't get too close. Apparently people were touching them and making them dirty. Oh Lord, what is the world coming too? I love art and sculptures where the audience can interact and participate. It's like Ai Wei Wei's sculpture in the turbine hall of the Tate Modern being cordoned off, it's not allowing the work to be experienced as it was intended! So what if it gets a few sticky marks?
